Reintroduction of Cheetahs in India after 70 years
The Indian cheetah was declared extinct in the year 1952.
India and Namibia signed an MoU for the reintroduction of cheetahs in India. The agreement between India and Namibia will allow for the relocation of cheetahs from southern Africa to Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park on 17th September 2022. This is the first reintroduction of species in wild from continent to continent.
